As born again citizens of God’s kingdom we cannot cave in to the pressure of the World’s system, or the world’s way of doing things. We must be poised to continue to lead a life of faith over fear, worship over worry, and love over hate.
The world system and its culture will always attempt to shape you.
However, it is important to be reminded that we are in this world but we are not of this world; we must be those that shape culture. In order to shape culture we must be focused to cancel conformity now more than ever.
Romans 12:2 KJVS
[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
To be conformed means to fashion alike, that is conform to the same pattern, ie) (one's mind and character) to another's pattern. In order to cancel conformity we must be transformed. Transformation cancels conformity by the renewing of the mind to Gods Word.
Simply stated. I don’t think the way I used to because I’m in Christ, therefore I don’t act or behave the way I used to before Christ. Renew your mind to God’s Word and
your thoughts will soon become your actions.
